The Abortion Speech

[Scenario: "Resolved that abortion be made illegal in the US." I am speaking for this resolution.]

Since January 22nd, 1973, there have been 42 million abortions performed in the United States. The lives of 42 million children have been snuffed out before every having began, 95% of them for the meaningless reason of inconvenience. Supposedly, this is a country of freedom, justice, and EQUALITY. What then gives a pregnant woman the right to take the life and future of another human being, simply because it is INCONVENIENT to her? What gives a pregnant woman the right to deprive another person of freedom he is equally entitled to? There is no excuse. Unless the health and safety of the woman and/or her child are at stake, there is no excuse.

The argument that a FETUS IS NOT A PERSON is just that--a FLIMSY excuse used by abortion supporters to make themselves FEEL BETTER about murder. Whether you call it a fetus or an unborn child, it does not change the fact he or she is a living organism growing inside the body of another human being. Anyone who believes that does NOT define a living person, is a COWARD by refusing to face the fact.

Under the neutral, COMFORTING name of "terminating a pregnancy", an abortion has the purpose of murdering a BABY, a baby who has not yet seen his mother's face, let alone the light of day. A baby who has not yet laughed, or walked, or made friends. A baby who will NEVER celebrate his 1st birthday, or 21st birthday, or fall in love. Imagine THIRTY-NINE MILLION, NINE HUNDRED THOUSAND babies condemned to DEATH by people who take these things FOR GRANTED with EVERY SECOND they're living. CONDEMNED for the crime of COMING INTO EXISTENCE. This would be the equivalent of September 11th happening THIRTEEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED times.

Of the 39 million children murdered in the last 31 years, how many do you suppose might have made a huge difference in the world? How many might have grown to become brilliant leaders, humanitarians, teachers, musicians, artists, inventors, HEROES? How many might have discovered the cure for AIDS, cancer, Parkinson's, Alzheimers? Sure, you might say that a number of those children might just as well have turned out "BAD" because they might have been raised in poverty, suffering, and violence. First off, since they're DEAD, there's NO WAY to tell. Secondly, even IF a great number of them DID grow up INADEQUATELY to the ironically high standards of the CHILD MURDERERS, there is STILL NO JUSTIFICATION for the ROBBERY of their lives.

Yes. I DARE to call these so called "PRO-CHOICE", women's right's "FREEDOM FIGHTERS"--MURDERERS. And I think the word is a gracious, POLITE term to use. For, what would you call someone who NOT ONLY chooses to KILL a child, but chooses to kill a child PAINFULLY. Abortion is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT for pregnant women. They must choose the quickest, easiest, most PAINLESS way to get rid of their BURDEN. If they were any wiser, that would be ADOPTION. As it is, 2 out of 3 women prefer TAKING PILLS that either STARVE THE CHILD TO DEATH, or PREVENT IT FROM GROWING until it DIES to VACUUMING it OUT OF THE UTERUS into a JAR, RIPPING the baby apart in the process. Pills are EVER so much better than vacuums because they don't infect or damage their precious uterus. However, if it's too LATE in the woman's pregnancy to do those, she can always have the baby TORN out of her LIMB BY LIMB and REASSEMBLED to make sure nothing was missed. If she'd rather the baby DIE in ONE PIECE, she can have the ABORTIONIST--NOT DOCTOR--pull the baby out feet first and have his brain SUCTIONED so his HEAD can collapse neatly enough to get through. If THIS method STILL too GRUESOME, she can just go into surgery, have the thing removed, and let it DIE of NEGLECT. Whatever, she chooses, it will most likely be the most LOW-RISK, most PAINLESS method for HER, as statistics have shown.

I do not SHARE this information with you today to SHOCK you, or corrupt your view of the world as a great place to be. I share these harsh realities with you because THAT is what abortion IS--HARSH, and UGLY, and BRUTAL. But what it is most of all is SELFISH. Because you have to wonder, what type of person, knowing ALL this information that is available to the public, ESPECIALLY at abortion clinics--WHAT type of person would STILL GO THROUGH WITH IT even if HER health or the health of her child WAS NOT AT STAKE? Because that would be the only acceptable case for it. Someone who would rather KILL than accept the consequences of her actions, someone who would DEPRIVE an INNOCENT CHILD of life in this beautiful world and TELL HERSELF it was to SAVE him from suffering cannot escape being called SELFISH. And she is NOT WORTHY of being called a MOTHER.

GIVING UP HER LIFESTYLE and FUTURE and placing the needs of ANOTHER BEFORE HER OWN is a huge commitment, and the one of the most COURAGEOUS, SELFLESS, acts of love one human being can do for another. It is TERRIBLY unfortunate that THIRTY-NINE MILLION NINE HUNDRED THOUSAND women could NOT bring themselves to do so. I CHALLENGE and PLEAD for abortion to be illegal in the United States, for LOVE to come before CONVENIENCE.
